CANDIDA IS A HIT
October 15, 2019
Critics and audiences alike have had some really lovely things to say about Candida at Washington Stage Guild.
"Whitmer gets to the core of the play’s most complex character, James, displaying his flaws alongside his integrity."
- Ian Thal, Washington City Paper
"Whitmer as Morell…shows a touching fondness for his on and off stage wife, Emilie Faith Thompson as Candida, which added an especially sweet quality to the production…the production is lively, wildly amusing, and nothing less than charming."
- Sophie Williams, Broadway World DC
"The men have really wonderful chemistry and play off each other to hysterical effect...This is a charming, vibrant production that is true to its roots as one of Shaw’s “Plays Pleasant” even as it surprises with refreshing modernity"
- Mary Anne Johnson, MD Theatre Guide
CANDIDA MUST CLOSE OCTOBER 20th. Head to Washington Stage Guild for tickets.
